1. Marigold Yellow
Whether you know it as "Generation Z Yellow" or "2019's Favorite Color", marigold yellow is here to pervade your closet. Integrate the buttercup-like, yellow-orange color into your wardrobe and summon it to brighten up any outfit! "If you want to try the marigold trend but don't necessarily want to commit to an expensive garment or a staple wardrobe piece, accessorizing is the way to go."
2. Tie Dye
As seen on Beyoncé at the beach and Justin Bieber in church, the beloved hippie print is making a comeback. The only difference is this time the retro classic print is infusing a new, undeniably edgy life that is *A LOT* chicer. Expect to see the SS19 trend on blazers, rocker tees, pants, mini dresses, and A-Line dresses as well. An easy compromise to this trend is to DIY name brand pieces!
3. Vegan Leather Fabric
In an attempt to move away from its low quality reputation, "faux leather" has rebranded itself as "vegan leather." When it comes to styling vegan leather it is great because it allows you to be more daring and playful with silhouettes and colors. The unfortunate impact with vegan leather is through our environment. As the fabric is an ethical alternative to animal skins, it still is made from layers of plastic.
4. Sequins, Sequins, and more Sequins!
The small shiny disks which represent classic glitz and glamour are back! Even though sequins have somewhat always been a trend, they were so prevalent in the SS19 runway shows you can't ignore them. Specifically, sequin jumpsuits are trending as well, as it will be a go-to party look throughout 2019.
5. Puffed Shoulders & Statement Sleeves
1980's fashion is back in a BIG way - literally, When it comes to puffed shoulders and statement sleeves, think of shirts and dresses with dramatic oversized shoulders and sleeves. This silhouette is often gathered at the shoulder with pleats of elastic and works well with square necklines on feminine dresses. "To nail the trend, the key is to marry a simple shirt or blouse with a voluminous sleeve (or poufy shoulders), with more fitted pieces."
