Considering the fact, designers are always one season ahead, it gives me the motivation and determination to find the next "It" item or trend one season ahead as well. I find it very beneficial to take notes and to keep tabs as to what is popular on the street during Fashion Week. These outfits and staple pieces are what set the bar for what is expected to be trending. Even though knowing what is trending right now is important, taking your knowledge regarding future trends one step further may not be a bad idea. These 8 staple pieces are predictions to the next essential "It" trends in fashion. This way, it will be easier and more convenient for your shopping list... and your wallet.

1. Checkered, Plaid, & Tartan Prints
This main eye-catching feature or supporting interest piece can be worn or incorporated into nearly any preferred style. These patterns are frequently found on blazers and trousers, but most recently have been found on asymmetrical tops and breezy skirts. For a fun and outgoing look, try mixing this pattern with florals.
2. Fringe
This "it" trend is one of the enduring trends that cyclically return to the runway season after season. Even though once seen only as festival fashion culture, it now has a modern appeal. This fresh and fun mix is swinging harder than ever before. The trick to pulling off fringe is to make sure yours is crafted from modern fabrics to help give the embellishment some refinement. Not Ready? Try incorporating some tassel accessories into your wardrobe first.
3. Buckle Shoes
For Spring 2018 buckle shoes were a BIG COMEBACK. These shoes not only add character, but also add a sort of industrial-functional appeal. The buckle provides the shoe with body and soul. It has an old western cowboy feel when paired with gritty leather, but also serves as a futuristic purpose when decked out in silver and gold. Additionally, this strong statement can pull an outfit together without being to loud or overboard. For the best look, pair these with simple silhouettes, letting them be the focus of the outfit.
4. Lavender
Goodbye millennial pink, Lavender is the new "it" shade and is very instagram friendly. This lovely soft option looks beautiful paired with well-worn denim or black basics you're used to pairing blush pinks with.
5. 60's Floral Prints
Ironically, this pattern is fresh again for 2018. Florals in large, bold prints are asserting themselves this year. The increased size and shape give the print a more modern and fashion forward touch. Putting a twist on the pattern by mixing small prints and pastels are favorably striking prints. For an un-expectant look, try mixing the print with checks and plaid.
6. Utility Jumpsuit
This one-and-done staple is coming back with a utilitarian twist. It draws inspiration from the classic flight suit and comes in boxy and boyish styles that have the perfect slouchy quality. You can style this versatile piece with just about anything - from heels to sneakers to oxfords, anything will pull the outfit together. Let t-shirts peek out by leaving the embellishment unbuttoned a bit or wear it alone for a sexy look.
7. PVC Overload
There's not much to say about this trend, except for the fact that PVC was ALL OVER the runway in Spring 2018. Everything from boots to coats received the clear treatment and look 100% wearable. If you're hesitant to try the trend, go easy first with a heel or bag.
8. Daytime Sparkles
Of course, sparkles are for night parties, but there should be no hesitant if you want to wear sparkles during the day. Dressing up with shine is fun and flirty, allowing for everyone's inner sparkle to shout out. The shimmery embellishment is perfect for the day and doesn't make any outfit less modest or flattering, it just adds a dose of enjoyment.
