Earlier this week I talked about Transitioning a Closet from Summer to Fall. I decided to keep the trend going and talk about How to Transition makeup from Summer to Fall. It’s time to tuck away the corals and pinks! We are finally approaching one of the most adored seasons of all. The season of knit sweaters, tights, and chunky booties - yay!!! Those long days on the beach were soo perfect, but sipping a pumpkin spice latte in an oversized sweater while watching netflix? Count me in! Here are some quick go to tips to transition your makeup bags from summer to fall.

Jen Stack
Foundation
Summer foundation staples consist of powder foundations, water foundations, and tinted moisturizers. Because our skin needed extra hydration for those humidity days, the “dewy/wet” foundation look was a go-to. But because Fall is slowly approaching, it brings dry and cooler weather with it as well. Since the weather is going through a new phase, this means that your skin is as well. (Adjust your foundation accordingly!) At some point, it would be beneficial to swap that summer formula with a creamier and rich foundation.
Tip!: Fall is usually a weird time because tans are slowly fading and foundation shades are usually in the weird summer/winter transition. Try experimenting with different ratios of your two shades mixed together for the perfect fall transition shade.
Lipstick
It’s heartbreaking to say goodbye to vibrant coral and brilliant pink lips, but it’s time to transition our pouts to fall. Trade in that signature summer lip shade for a rich semi-matte cranberry lipstick. Just like the leaves, you’ll start to notice a change in lipstick shades as well. Such as deep reds, terra cotta browns, and significantly flattering plum wines.
Tip!: Not ready to commit to the vampy look? Try a sheer inspired berry lip instead.
Nail Polish
The manicure colors for fall are usually inspired by everything warm and cozy: Pumpkin Spice Lattes, Berry Pies, and Chunky Plaid Shirts. If you’re looking to match your vampy pout to your mani or pedi, look for deep berry or plum tones.
Cheeks
Look for a season full of fresh, winter chilled skin with a flushed pair of healthy radiance. It’s time to let go of the cocoa chocolate bronzer!
Makeup Palette
When looking for a palette, look for dark plums, rich berries, and charcoal greys. These palettes will help you bring out the best of falls colors.
