Being a college student is not easy by any means, there are expenses coming from every direction. With this being said, it is absolutely necessary to be saving your money wherever and whenever you can. Even though saving your money is important, it does not mean that is going to be easy finding sales – especially when it comes to finding student discounts. Many companies do not want people to know they have a student discount (sadly). Just like students, at the end of the day, all companies want all of the money they can make. With that being said, do not let this fool you, while there are such companies like this, there are others that know and consider, being a full-time student (or part-time!) is not easy and there should be some perks to it. Luckily for you, I have found the perfect combination of both! Here are some clothing stores to save money and look great while doing it.

A website I am so excited to have found and share is UniDays! I have never been so grateful for a legitimate website that offers gift cards and discount codes completely for FREE! UniDays gives access to current college students ages 16 and older the best student discounts online and in-store. These discount codes include: home, fashion, beauty, food and drinks, health and fitness, lifestyle, technology, sports, and media. Think about it, 10% off or more on leading brands just because you are a student?! I think yes! In order to receive discount codes and start shopping at your favorite stores is to sign-up with your personal email. Once you have done so, you will then be redirected to fill in more personal information to validate that you are currently a college student. The best part about the UniDays subscription is that you can cancel your free subscription at any time.
To name a few, some of my favorite brands featured on UniDays are, Princess Polly Boutique, Show Me Your MuMu, Pacsun, Asos, Aerie, Benefit Cosmetics, and MAC Cosmetics. To be even more specific, the most recent discount code I used was at Aerie for 20% off my entire purchase online! I was so happy about this discount code in particular because it saved me close to $30. $30 is a lot of money, especially for those late nights when you need an endless amount of coffee and snacks!
With a goal to be worth an $8 billion store by the end of 2017, Forever 21 is not playing any games. While this company has filed for bankruptcy in 2019, after closing a few stores throughout the country to save its brand, it does not look like it is going anywhere. Based out of Los Angeles, Forever 21 has continued to stay relevant for over 30 years. (That’s longer than most of us have been alive btw.) Personally, Forever 21 was a hotspot when I was in high school. With such cute clothes and surprisingly affordable prices, I do not plan on saying goodbye to it anytime soon.
I am sure most of you have heard or been in Forever 21 at least once in your life, but have you heard that they offer a student discount? It has saved me tons of money! Whether in-store or online, all students receive a 10% off discount on their entire purchase. In the Milwaukee area, Forever 21 can be found at Mayfair Mall in Wauwatosa on the second floor.
A clothing brand originating from London claims to be, “the original champion of individuality.” In my opinion, they are not wrong. Topshop has a vision to accommodate to everyone’s needs as a human. With such a positively diverse brand, the company has clothing options for everyone. This includes, an impeccable size range, must-have accessories, and on top of that, versatile (af) denim. Believe it or not, a lot of students shop at Topshop. With such good quality and affordable fashion, it is hard to avoid shopping here rather than not. Aside from being affordable, Topshop is on high alert with loads of the latest student trends. If I am being honest, they are always curing my curiosity for the “next” best trend. In addition to staying on par with the latest trends, students can also receive a 10% discount! Unfortunately, the closest Topshop location is on Michigan Avenue in Chicago. But Topshop clothing items can be found at Nordstrom! The closest Nordstrom to Milwaukee is at Mayfair Mall located in Wauwatosa, WI.
Not sure what to wear out with your gal pals this weekend? A great place to shop for a GNO (Girls Night Out) is none other than Missguided. You will not only be feeling yourself because Missguided stays updated with the latest trends, but your wallet will too with reasonable prices and a 40% off student discount! The best part about Missguided is it is an online clothing store – there is no need to go out because you can shop in the comfort of your own home or dorm room!
One of my all-time favorite stores is Madewell. If you are looking for more of a classy look while still staying on trend, take some time to look through Madewell. It is a store that will effortlessly turn your cute outfits into a drop-dead gorgeous combination. Not only do they offer a 15% off in-store student discount on your entire purchase, but what makes this store even more worth-it is their Denim Recycling Program. Madewell will take your old jeans and recycle them! They can be from any store, any color, and any style or cut. Madewell will then give you a $20 credit for your donation! I think this recycling program is such an easy way to help our environment. Additionally, donating your clothes to companies who have a recycling program like Madewell or similar to it in place will give you assurance that your donated clothes are going to be reused for a good purpose. In my personal opinion, Urban Outfitters is a given. Currently, it is a total hotspot for college students. Urban Outfitters stays up to date on all of the latest trends – just as good as Topshop does. The benefit about Urban Outfitters is that there is a way closer location to Milwaukee than having to drive to Chicago! The store is located in Milwaukee, at 1937 E Kenilworth Pl, Milwaukee, WI 53202. They also offer a 10% off year-round student discount and will occasionally offer a 20% off student discount. (It is a good idea to keep an eye out for this one, this store isn't cheap !)
