September is all about incorporating fall fashion pieces into your wardrobe... even with a rare heat wave occasion. Yes, it's hard to think about warm booties and knit sweaters when it's still 75+ degrees out! I thought it'd be nice to transition our wardrobes seamlessly into the next season without making it too much of a challenge. Whether it be layering dresses over white t-shirts or working an off-the-shoulder top with darker toned pieces, here are 3 style tips on how to wear your fall faves while the temperature is still high.

1. Add a Statement Piece
One way to spice up any outfit is to add one of your favorite pieces of jewelry. Not only will the outfit stand out originally, but you will most likely get A LOT of compliments on it. Adding a statement shows who you are as a person and what your style is like.
2. Add tights
Adding tights to your outfit can be a fun way to play with patterns, colors, and textures for fall. This is a way to extend the life of your favorite summer skirts and dresses. I really love opaque tights! The cable-knit versions bring tons of texture. A gray pair of textured tights worn with a khaki skirt and boots is about as autumnal as a pumpkin patch.
Not into tights? Try leggings. They're perfect under a summery tunic for more coverage, while still staying fashion forward.
3. Add Deeper Colors
The deeper colors that come with changing leaves are to die for. Don't worry if your closet isn't already packed with plum, mustard yellow, and maroon. You can add a couple of darker pieces to extend the life of your lighter summer clothes. Take a lavender dress and some heavier textures and jewel tones and you'll be able to keep wearing it. To complete the look, consider pairing it with a plum cardigan and a sleek pair of booties.
